What Bivela is and is not

Bivela is a self-care and mood-tracking tool for living with bipolar disorder. It does not diagnose, does not prescribe and does not replace a doctor, a therapist or emergency services. Questionnaire scores are for following a trend, not for a diagnosis. Do not make any treatment decision, such as stopping or changing a medicine, on the app alone.

If you are in danger right now, call 123 (social emergency), 1480 (Behzisti counselling line) or your local emergency number. Bivela does not read your entries or messages in real time and cannot send help in an emergency.

Your account

Sync, backup and some parts need an account. Keeping your password and recovery code is up to you; without them nobody, Bivela included, can open your encrypted data. An account is for one person.

Your data is yours

What you log is yours: it stays encrypted on the phone and on the server, you can export or delete it whenever you like, and it goes nowhere unless you choose so. The details are on the privacy page.

Feedback you send from the app is read only to answer you and to improve Bivela, and it is deleted with your data.

Subscription and trial

The safety parts — crisis help, the safety plan, warning signs, medicines and their reminders, mood and sleep logging, backup, export and deleting your data — always stay free. Some other parts may need a subscription. Every new account has a free trial; the days left show under My subscription, and we tell you before it ends. Buying and cancelling a subscription from Cafe Bazaar goes through Bazaar itself, under Bazaar's rules.

Test version

While the app says “Test version”, Bivela is still being completed: it may have errors and parts of it may change. If you see a problem, send it from Feedback and problems in the app.

Fair use

• Do not copy, republish, sell or rent the app, and do not spread modified or unofficial versions of it.
• Do not reverse engineer the app or try to get around its subscription or its security.
• Do not attack Bivela's servers, send unusual load, or open other people's accounts.
• Install the app only from Cafe Bazaar or the ways Bivela names; a copy from elsewhere may have been tampered with.

Bivela's rights

The Bivela name and logo, the texts, the design, the pictures, the animations and the code of the app and the website belong to Bivela, and all rights are reserved. You are allowed to use the app personally and non-commercially; this permission cannot be passed on. Questionnaires belong to their rights holders; only those that are free or for which permission was given are included.

Changes

If these terms change, the date at the top is updated and an important change is told in the app's What's new.
